Auto e Moto d’Epoca from Padua to Bologna: how did it go?

The fortieth edition of Auto e moto d’epoca , the most important trade fair in the world of this sector, will be remembered for the move from the historic headquarters in Padua to that of Bologna, duplicating the spaces made available for exhibitors and related events.

What everyone is wondering is: has the change of location been good for Auto e Moto d'Epoca?

If we look at the numbers, definitely yes!

The national press, including Il Sole 24 Ore even talks about doubling the turnout of the public on the inaugural day dedicated to collectors and experts in the sector with a presence of 35% of foreigners.

The debut of Auto e Moto d'Epoca in the Italian motor valley has therefore kept its promises, and the location is also confirmed for 2024.

On the other hand, unfortunately there is a wake-up call regarding the turnover generated by the event: Ansa in fact reports “It can't be the same say about the sales of specialized traders: on average we can talk about 15-20 percent of sales, a percentage much lower than previous editions and expectations."
The high cost of participating in the event - again according to the agency - discouraged the participation of private sellers and brought up the prices of the cars on display. A big change compared to the past, when we went to the fair to look for opportunities that otherwise would not have been found on the market.

It is difficult to talk about a crisis in the sector: it will certainly be interesting to observe whether there will be a reversal of the trend in 2024. We will find out at Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2024, again at Bologna Fair
